In response to the events which took place today (21 December) at the Charles University in Prague, the community of the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University expresses its sincere condolences to the families of the victims of the shooting.

We join in grief and sadness with the whole community of the Charles University, with whom we have cooperated for years (not least under the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree in European Politics & Society (EPS): Vaclav Havel programme), and enjoyed many research and study stays in each other’s companies.
