Report -'The UK and its neighbours: views from across Europe'

Report -<span lang='en'>'The UK and its neighbours: views from across Europe'</span>

On 27 June a new report on relations between the UK and its neighbours was published. The report provides analysis of UK and European perspectives, and contributions from leading specialists from 16 European states, all members of the ‘Living with the Neighbours Observatory’ project.
Dr Natasza Styczyńska and Volodymyr Posviatenko from the Institute of European Studies wrote the analysis of British-Polish relations.

Eight years after the UK voted to leave the European Union and on the eve of elections in the UK, Brexit continues to impact our daily lives. The incoming government will face major questions and challenges in how it approaches relations with the EU and also Dublin, Berlin, Paris, and beyond. This new report assesses the state of play in relations between the UK and its neighbours, and addresses four questions:

  • How have UK relations with the EU changed since 2016?
  • How have the UK’s bilateral relations with its European neighbours evolved since the UK referendum?
  • What is the view from the EU and the UK on the current relationship?
  • What is likely to change after the UK elections?

The report is edited by Cleo Davies, Senior Research Fellow, and Hussein Kassim, Professor of European Public Policy and Administration, Senior Fellow ‘UK in a Changing Europe, Politics and International Studies, University of Warwick
