The Jagiellonian Library
The Jagiellonian Library is one of the most important research libraries in Central Europe, with over 6.5 million items its traditional collections (not counting digitised and online collections). The opening hours for the main Reading Room (Lectorium) are 8:30 to 20:30 Monday to Friday and 8:30 to 15:30 on Saturdays. There are often extended opening hours at the ends of semesters.

Searching the catalogue
The main Jagiellonian University catalogue: katalogi.uj.edu.pl
A search in the main online catalogue will find results in the main Library and other reading rooms in the Jagiellonian University system (including the one in our building), as well as the metadata (titles, and sometimes keywords) of many resources that are available through our online databases. It will not search the full contents of those online resources from the main catalogue. When accessing subscribed online databases from outside of a University building, you will be asked to log in with your regular Jagiellonian University username and password.

Reading rooms outside of the main Jagiellonian Library
We have a large reading room and library at Reymonta 4 for the whole of the Faculty of International and Political Studies, open from 9:00 to 18:00 Monday to Friday. You can find more information about our Faculty Library here.
There are other readings rooms for other programmes outside of our Faculty. For example, students in European Studies may also find useful materials in the Sociology reading room or the Polish Language and Culture in the World reading room.
Digital Libraries
There are an increasing number of digital libraries available to all users. These typically include scans of open access or public domain works, especially historical documents, rare books, daily newspapers, etc.
