"The Green Border" and panel discussion "War & the Weaponisation of Migration. The Green Border, Two Years On. What Now?"

Students of the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University met yesterday evening at the Paradox cinema to watch Agnieszka Holland's film "The Green Border" and to discuss the situation on the Polish-Belarusian border, including the use of migration as a weapon in contemporary conflicts.
After the screening, there was a panel discussion: "War & the Weaponisation of Migration. The Green Border, Two Years On. What Now?"

The panel discussion included:

  • Dr. Katarzyna Przybysławska (refugee lawyer, director of the Halina Nieć Legal Aid Centre)
  • Dr. Karol Wilczyński (Minority Rights Group, co-creator of the Border Group and Salam Lab)
  • Prof. Dorota Praszałowicz (migration scholar associated with the Researchers on the Border group, JU)

The discussion was moderated by Dr. Karolina Czerska-Shaw from the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University. The meeting was also attended by prof. Jan Brzozowski from ISE UJ, who heads the Jagiellonian Centre for Migration Studies.
