The Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University proudly announces The Europe Day 2026 Photography Competition “I’ve Got My Eye on Europe”. Students of all levels and in all programmes at the Institute of European Studies of Jagiellonian University are eligible to participate in the competition.
Photos should be submitted by 6 May 2026.

Last week we had the great pleasure of hosting visiting scholar Prof. Oded Haklai, Director of the Centre for the Study of Democracy and Diversity at Queen's University in Canada, who gave several very interesting lectures within the framework of the Erasmus Mundus MA in Euroculture programme at the Institute of European Studies.

The Institute of European Studies has established a partnership with the Polish Civic Association of Roots and Culture “Czerwone Maki”, based in Santa Fe, Argentina. The cooperation will involve a range of academic and educational activities, including joint research projects, conferences, online lectures, and initiatives supporting intercultural dialogue. Particular emphasis will be placed on research into the culture, history and heritage of the Polish diaspora in Argentina.

Join us for the seminar to discuss the newly published volume: The Mnemonic Warriors of the European Far Right. Memory Politics, Laws, Narratives, edited by Dr hab. Joanna Sondel-Cedarmas, Prof. UJ, and Dr Grzegorz Pożarlik. The event will take place on Monday, 27 April, at 15.00 in the WSMiP Library. [The meeting will be held in Polish]

Join us for a meeting with representatives of the Department of Strategy at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who will present the key aspects of the Strategy for Poland’s Foreign Policy for 2026–2030, with particular emphasis on relations with the United States. There will also be a Q&A session.
The meeting will take place on Friday, 24 April at 9.45 in room 037, at the Faculty of International and Political Studies of the Jagiellonian University. [The meeting will be held in Polish.]
