The Institute of European Studies at Jagiellonian University has joined the international initiative The Jena Declaration (TJD) as a supporting member. TJD brings together researchers, academic institutions, civil society organisations and partners from around the world who are committed to promoting sustainable development through dialogue between culture, science and society.

The Institute of European Studies is continuing to expand its network of international partnerships. We are pleased to announce the signing of a cooperation agreement with the Polish Initiatives Centre in Greece (OIP), an organisation actively engaged in promoting Poland, Polish culture and the integration of Polish communities in Greece.

The Institute of European Studies at the Jagiellonian University has signed a cooperation agreement with the Association Culturelle Polonaise de Troyes (ACP), a French organisation dedicated to promoting Polish culture, history and national heritage. This partnership marks another step in the development of the Institute’s international network of collaborations and strengthens its links with Polish communities across Europe.

On 2 August 2026, the Director of the Institute of European Studies, Prof. Kinga Anna Gajda, took part in the commemorations marking the 82nd anniversary of the liquidation of the so-called “Zigeunerlager” at Auschwitz II-Birkenau and the European Roma and Sinti Holocaust Memorial Day.

A cooperation agreement has been signed with the Museum of Photography in Bydgoszcz. Established in 2004 and operating within the University of Economy in Bydgoszcz, the Museum is the only institution of its kind in northern Poland. Its extensive collection comprises more than 4,000 exhibits documenting the history and development of photography. The Museum also undertakes exhibition, educational and research activities, organising workshops, museum lessons and the Bydgoszcz Academy of Photography.
