On Friday, 12 January, students and PhD candidates of the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University gathered for an international conference on ‘heritage’, broadly understood. Co-organised by the European Studies Circle of the Jagiellonian University, this event was part of a broader project led by prof. Kinga by Anna Gajda entitled "The (non)commemoration of Heritage of Eastern Europe."

​The EU is developing closer ties with some of its neighbours, creating various forms of external differentiated integration (EDI). Since these relations are continuously asymmetrical in terms of power, scholars raise the issue of how power and dominance feature in such structures. The main aim of this research paper is to investigate how, in the context of EDI, the EU creates structures in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy (ENP), and specifically the Eastern Partnership (EaP), that allow more participation and increasing input and throughput legitimacy for partner countries and their societies.

Raport przedstawia wypracowane w procesie partycypacyjnym rekomendacje dla miasta i instytucji kultury dotyczące działań mających na celu integrację osób z doświadczeniem migracji - tzw. nowych mieszkańców - ze starymi.

Tuż przed przerwą świąteczną odbyły się spotkania z uczniami klas objętych patronatem przez Instytut Studiów Europejskich UJ. Prof. Krzysztof Koźbiał spotkał się z uczniami Trójki, gdzie przeprowadził zajęcia pt. "Mniejszości narodowe i etniczne w Polsce". Prof. Dariusz Niedźwiedzki zaś wygłosił w IV LO wykład pt. "Mobilność czy migracja? O problemach ruchliwości przestrzennej w integrującej się Europie".

On Wednesday, 13 December, the Institute of European Studies held our annual Holiday celebrations for Students, Instructors, and Staff from all our programmes in both Polish and English.
