A lecture delivered by Dr. Wojciech Burek: 'The European Union - Between Economic Integration and a Community of Values' at the Faculty of International and Political Studies was the first stage of the "Step by Step with the European Union" city game organised on 24 October by the Civic Dialogue Forum. The event was opened by IES Director, Prof. Kinga Anna Gajda.

Director of the Institute of European Studies, Prof. Kinga Anna Gajda, and Dr Mirosław Natanek met with Ms Iwona Gorczyca-Polus, Coordinator of the Krakow branch of Campus France Pologne (Responsable de l’antenne Campus France Pologne à Cracovie), to discuss initiating cooperation between the institutions.

On 8 October Prof. Nikolina Tsvetkova from the European Studies Department at Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski delivered an open lecture entitled 'Fostering Intercultural Citizenship and Civic Engagement in Young People'. The lecture was part of the CEEPUS programme.

On Friday, 10 October 2025, current and former Deans of the Faculty as well as the whole academic community of the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University gathered to honour Prof. Zdzisław Mach on the occasion of his retirement.

On Thursday, 9 October, students of the Institute of European Studies of the Jagiellonian University attended a guest lecture by Dr Nicolò Fasola entitled 'Russia-EU relations through the lens of emotions: an evolution'. The lecture was delivered as part of the Una Europa Bachelor of European Studies (BAES) programme.

We are pleased to announce that the Erasmus Mundus Joint Master's Degree in European Politics and Society: Vaclav Havel (EPS) has received the European Commission grant for the years 2026-2031. We encourage you to apply for the program in the next academic year, as with the EC grant we will be able to provide a scholarships for the best applicants.

On 30 June 2025, we had the pleasure of celebrating the completion of the BA in European Studies programme with our students! It was a great moment to come together, share memories, and mark the end of three years of hard work, growth, and friendships.

On 1 July 2025, a group of students from the Human Rights Studies in Politics, Law and Society programme at Fulda University of Applied Sciences in Germany came to visit our Institute.
