25-year anniversary of English-language degree programmes at the Institute of European Studies
That was an intense weekend! The Institute of European Studies celebrated the 25-year anniversary of our English-language degree programmes!
We had panel discussions, we had banquets (with lots of blue cake), we had slide shows of years gone by, we had vodka tasting, we had a salt mine tour, and we had a vineyard tour. But most of all, we got to see old friends and colleagues and talk about where we have been and where we are going.

New season of the European Studies podcast series!
We welcome you to the 2nd season of the European Studies at the Jagiellonian University podcast series. This series brings together the work of first year BA students studying in the Polish-language programme of the Institute of European Studies. This season offers an interesting array of themes, from religious practices and food culture, to tall and mysterious tales, as well as thought-provoking discussions about multilingualism, consumer culture and the influence of tech companies on our privacy.

Visiting scholar from Florida Atlantic University (FAU) recounts his experience in Krakow
Prof. Victor Menco Haeckermann writes about his experiences in Poland and at the Jagiellonian University as a visiting scholar. Thanks to a grant from Florida Atlantic University’s Center for Peace, Justice, and Human Rights, in spring 2023, Prof. Haeckermann was able to travel here to learn about the revival of Jewish life in Poland after 1945.
