Key Responsibilities

• Serving as Head of Administration of the Institute
• Coordinating administrative activities supporting the Institute’s teaching, research, and organisational operations
• Managing research and educational projects, including administrative and financial support for their implementation
• Providing support in human resources matters, including promotions and recruitment
• Planning the Institute’s budget and overseeing financial matters
• Acting as Deputy Data Protection Officer at the Institute of European Studies

Monika Nowak holds a technical higher education degree (Master of Engineering, University of Agriculture in Kraków). She has also completed two-year postgraduate studies in European Studies at the Jagiellonian University and a Master in Public Administration at the Cracow University of Economics.

She has extensive experience in university administration, including team management, staff training, project management, and HR administration. She specialises in the administrative and financial coordination of international research and educational projects, particularly Erasmus Mundus Joint Degree programmes.

Her professional background includes managing projects funded by the European Commission, including those under the Framework Programme, Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, and Jean Monnet initiatives. She has frequently participated in international academic staff mobility schemes, including Erasmus+ and Education programmes.

She is also a member of the governing boards of international study consortia run by the Institute of European Studies, as well as a member of both the Faculty Council of International and Political Studies and the Council of the Institute of European Studies.

In her private life, she has a keen interest in music and travel. When inspiration strikes, she also enjoys painting.
