Prof. Kinga Anna Gajda, Director of the Institute of the European Studies, took part in the celebrations marking the 25th anniversary of the Jan Nowak-Jeziorański College of Eastern Europe - one of the important stakeholders of our Institute. The College's many years of activity in support of international dialogue, cooperation with the societies of Central and Eastern Europe, and the promotion of democratic values remains closely aligned with the IES's mission.

As AI systems are adopted across society, they increasingly serve as a source of knowledge and memory — including about the Holocaust. Because they are trained on vast amounts of user-generated content and other unvetted sources, they can reproduce biases and misinformation.

Academics from the Institute of European Studies at Jagiellonian University took an active part in the 5th National Congress of European Studies, Europe at a Time of Transformation, held in Poznań. Representatives of the Institute from across a range of European studies research areas presented findings from their latest research projects and contributed to discussions on some of the most pressing challenges facing Europe today.

The Poznań Science and Technology Park hosted a meeting with representatives of Poland’s leading universities to discuss the transformation of Eastern Wielkopolska and the role of the academic community in developing solutions to address the challenges facing the region.
