Key Responsibilities

• Promoting the unit’s English-taught degree programmes
• Managing and updating the website and social media channels related to English-taught programmes
• Coordinating the Study Abroad programme, including collaboration with international partners and comprehensive support for incoming students
• Coordinating student placements (for BA & MA in European Studies, BAES, Euroculture, IMCEERES)

Svetlana Baranova holds Master’s degrees in Environmental Sciences (Environmental Protection and Management) and International Relations with a specialisation in European Studies. She is currently a doctoral candidate at the Doctoral School in the Humanities at the Jagiellonian University, specialising in cultural and religious studies.
She was awarded a scholarship under the Lane Kirkland Programme in the field of non-formal education in an international context (with distinction) and is also a professional English-language translator.
She has extensive experience in delivering international educational and social projects, including the RADAR project (Raising Awareness on Disinformation Achieving Resilience). Since 2023, she has been teaching the Research Design course within the BAES programme, delivering lectures and seminars on research methodology and supporting students in developing professional competences for work in international environments.
She is actively engaged in initiatives related to climate action and sustainable development and serves as an Ambassador of the European Climate Pact for 2026. She is also a co-founder and co-organiser of the discussion-based book club “I’ve Heard EU’ve Been Reading”, which focuses on European literature and reflection on contemporary social, political and cultural issues.
Her interests include photography, cinema and music, as well as research into climate imaginaries in literature, environmental protection and sustainability, ornithology, and reflections on human–non-human relationships.
